Modular Tool Storage Racks (digital plans)
Free plans for a modular tool storage system.
Still in progress and will be updated as we support more tools.
Design is setup to support all tool makers but only tested using tools from Makita.
We only own Makita tools so that is the first brand we are supporting.
STEP, STL and Bambustudio project files are included.
IF YOU OWN OTHER BRANDS PLEASE READ:
This design should work but you will need to find the 3D printable tool hanger and glue it to our design.
There are many tool hangers already available online.
For example here are several free Dewalt tool hangers on a site called “Printables”: click here
You can search Google or any 3D print website for the tool brand you have, download that hanger, 3D print it and glue it to the bottom of our shelf model.
This is what we do with the Makita tool holder we designed (included). We print it separately then glue it to the shelf that works best with it.
Please do not ask us to generate a holder for your brand.
Why?
1. People (most likely) have created one already. You just need to find it online.
2. We would have to buy a tool from that brand and reverse engineer it.
3. Creating hangars for all tool brands would take us months of work.
If we find a filament brand and color that matches a tool brand we will post it here to help.
Filament colors can also be found searching Google, many options available for most brands.
Makita Teal = PLA (Mid Century Teal) 1.75mm 1kg Filament [ATRL50217718C]
Dewalt Yellow = needed
Milwaukee Red = needed
Ryobi Green = needed
Rigid Orange = needed
Craftsman Red = needed
If you find a brand that doesn’t work well with the sizes of shelves or other parts in this design let us know and we might be able to export a different size that would fit better (Key word here is “might” :) wink)
Links to hardware and glue used in this design:
